Gideon Gartner, Computer Industry Luminary, Joins Soliloquy Advisory Board

Mr. Gartner is the founder and former CEO of The Gartner Group, Soundview Financial Group, and Giga Information Group.
As the founder of the Gartner Group in 1979, Gideon Gartner served as its President, CEO, and Chairman until April 1992. The Gartner Group was ranked one of the fastest growing private firms in the U.S. by Inc. Magazine, until it went public in 1986, whereupon it was ranked one of the best small companies in America by Business Week. In 1988, Mr. Gartner sold the company to Saatchi & Saatchi, but then regained control again in 1990 through a leveraged buyout of the firm. In 1993, Gartner Group went public again and currently trades on the NYSE.
Mr. Gartner also founded Soundview Financial Group, a broker-dealer providing computer-related industry investment advice and banking services to institutional investors. In 1986, the company was spun out to the Gartner Group shareholders. Subsequently, Mr. Gartner founded Giga Information Group, which shipped its first product in 1996 and has since become the fastest growing firm in the IT Advisory space.
Prior to the above noted achievements, Mr. Gartner was a partner at Oppenheimer and Company; before joining Wall Street, he worked for IBM in Europe and the United States. Gideon Gartner studied at M.I.T. (Massachusetts Institute of Technology), earning his Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering (1956) and his Masters of Science in Management from M.I.T.'s Sloan School (1960).
